Meet the Team

Janet graduated from Stanford University in l971 at the age of nineteen with a degree in clinical psychology. She is a member of Stanford Cap & Gown, the honorary women's society which selects scholars based on academic merit and community service. After several years of adventure, she attended Hastings College of the Law and received her degree in l978. Janet interned with the Federal Public Defender in San Francisco and the Alameda County Public Defender. Janet started her own law firm in 1979 and specializes in trust and estate planning and the law of not-for-profit corporations.

Kathy Moon, Attorney at Law

Kathy is a UC Hastings College of the Law graduate with a concentration in taxation. She also graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Economy of Industrial Societies. Kathy was a National AP Scholar and received a Regents Scholarship. During law school, Kathy interned at Janet’s law office and worked on trusts and probates in Alameda, Contra Costa and Los Angeles counties. She is a current member of the Bar and has been working with our clients in estate planning and nonprofit law. Kathy takes pleasure in her work and brings clear, accurate legal advice to our clients. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the violin and taking black and white photographs.

 

Ellie is Janet’s Legal Assistant. She attended FSU and is an avid Seminoles football fan. Ellie has extensive experience as a librarian in both the private and public sectors. Her experience and dedication to our clients ensures that you are well taken care of and that every detail is handled in a professional manner. Detailed oriented, Ellie provides every client with personal attention and hands-on assistance throughout the process of creating and funding trusts. A real people person, and a tireless community volunteer, she donates many hours of her time to the well being of others. Ellie was recently honored by being selected to study Ayurveda medicine (the ancient Indian healing tradition) under the tutelage of a renowned practitioner. Ellie enjoys her work and our clients.
