Alan Beaven Family Fund

Alan, 48, a native New Zealander and longtime Oakland resident, was an environmental attorney with Berman DeValerio Pease Tabacco Burt & Pucillo.  He devoted his career to representing many environmental groups in numerous high profile Clean Water Act cases. Joe Tabacco, a partner in the San Francisco office, said “Alan was an environmental champion whose numerous successful prosecutions have markedly improved water quality throughout California. The environmental bar has lost one of its brightest stars.”

Alan is survived by his wife, Kimi Beaven, their 6-year old daughter, Sonali; and by his two sons from his first marriage, Chris and John. Chris Beaven is a sophmore at Loyola Marymount University, pursuing a double major in Political Science and Economics with an emphasis in International Relations. John Beaven recently graduated pre-med from the University of California, San Diego.

Senator Barbara Boxer spoke about Alan from the floor during the 107th Congress. You can read her words from the Congressional Record by clicking here

Alan Beaven always said that the greatest gift his parents gave him was that of a good education. In this spirit, a fund has been created to insure that Alan’s three children receive the same gift in his absence. Your donations can be sent to:
